MONGAR SCHOOL | BHUTAN

IN DEVELOPMENT

A school planned for Mongar will be the first school in the eastern region of Bhutan to offer accessible classroom facilities for children with disabilities and diverse needs. The school aims to introduce a variety of learning programs alongside academic ones.

PROJECT CHALLENGES

  • The school is situated in the far eastern region of Bhutan. Due to inadequate construction materials within Bhutan, particularly in the eastern area, contractors must import materials from India, the nearest neighboring country.
  • Mongar is located a considerable distance from the Indian borders, presenting challenges for contractors in timely transportation of materials to the site. Additionally, construction costs tend to rise due to the distance involved. Furthermore, the contractor mobilizes workers from nearby states of India.
However, all these challenges are effectively addressed with contingency plans.
ESTIMATIONS
  • The project completion is estimated to be in June 2024
  • Pending the fulfillment of all tender protocols
